About Us
I started ^flagrant records in 2003 as an outlet for my band, Christ Analogue, and the many projects I was working on with co-conspirator Markus Vonprause. As with many ideas conjured up over a few shots of Jameson's Irish Whiskey, it didn't really work, Markus lost his wits and moved back to the Great Northwest. I went onto a happy relationship with Positon! Records where, in addition to working on the SMG and Micronaut records, I released my debut for The Atomica Project and the Scanalyzer project with Chris Randall.
So, why does flagrant even exist? I've asked myself that quite a few times. Each time the name comes up for domain renewal, it just seems worth the $10 to keep a part of one of my ideas alive, even if it's on serious life support. But, at last, the day has come for me to do something useful with this site! Positron!, always a few giant steps ahead of the curve, has gone all digital - meaning no cd's, no shirts, no physical merchandise. While I whole heartedly agree with the move, it's also in my best interest to get rid of this big box of shirts i have laying around. So we're opening a little store right here on the flagrant site.
There are no real plans to expand it beyond just CA and Atomica merch, though I may eventually include a few of the artists that I've produced and possibly an exclusive or 2. hint hint! Thanks again for visiting the site and for your support. - Wade Alin/Flagrant
